Kombat British Army Machete

Very well made for the price point. Can't go wrong

The Kombat British Army Machete hasn't been used yet at the time of this review (26-08-25). I had a problem with the frog (Holder/sheath/protector). The frog supplied had a defective press stud, Sgt Preppers sent a replacement FOC, the replacement had a defective press stud (Olive Coloured Frogs). The third replacement (BTP?) also FOC had the same problem. I informed Sgt Preppers as this must be a supplier issue with the frogs. I'm happy with Sgt Preppers but not happy with Kombat UK's Quality Assurance.

The package was shipped immediately and arrived in very good time. It was also the best price that I could find online.
This is a copy of the long serving British army machete. The blade was easy to sharpen on a basic sharpening stone and held the edge well. It is a thick heavy blade and the point of balance is very close to the handle making precision usage very easy. Chopping and cutting of an overgrown hedge was easy, the blade is thick enough for baton chopping on thicker stems and trunks. It chops onions and chicken almost as precisely as a Sabatier kitchen knife.
I believe the blade to be strong although I did skim a review where someone managed to snap the blade.
The handle is a touch rattly and I think that might break with persistent usage but should be easy to replace. The handle is also a bit thick for smaller hands and there is no texture at all for grip.
In size and profile it reminds me of the parangs that the Iban tribesman of Borneo use.
Thoroughly happy with this purchase.
