MIRA Safety First Breed Collapsible CBRN Animal Ark Dog Gas Mask (Standard Kit)

A reusable, collapsible dome that protects dogs and other small pets, powered by a MIRA MB-90 PAPR. PAPR and filters are sold separately.

SUMMARY

A dog cannot wear a gas mask with a tight seal, because of fur and because pets will not keep one on. The MIRA Animal Ark gets round that with an enclosure: an MB-90 PAPR feeds filtered air into the clear dome, creating positive pressure around your pet. It deploys in minutes, folds flat for storage and is made in Israel.

DETAILS

• Needs a PAPR to work: The Ark requires a 40mm-thread PAPR. MIRA used the MB-90 for all its laboratory testing and highly recommends it. You will also need 40mm NATO filters. MIRA's own Deluxe kit pairs the Ark with an MB-90 and two NBC-77 SOF filters; this Standard Kit does not include them.

• Up to 12 hours of use: On one set of eight AA batteries in the MB-90, with filtered air flowing into the dome (MIRA).

• Roomy interior: 14 cubic feet (about 400 litres), with space for your pet's food, water and toys.

• Clear all round: Fully translucent, so you can keep an eye on your pet while it is in use.

• Tough laminate: Four-layer laminate-230 with reinforced seams. MIRA's figure for resistance to liquid mustard penetration is more than 6 hours.

• Pets up to 10kg in total: One small or medium dog, or two cats, up to 22 lb (10kg) combined. MIRA says birds, rabbits, rodents, ferrets and reptiles can use it too; place an existing habitat inside for rodents and reptiles. It has not been tested with larger animals.

• Easy to move and store: Can be mounted on a stroller, wagon, sled or pickup truck bed. Folds into a duffle bag and, stored in its packaging, has a 15-year shelf life (MIRA).

• Not for children: MIRA states the Ark is not intended for children or small humans.

HOW IT'S PACKED

Standard Kit in a storage duffle bag: 107 x 42 x 20cm (42 x 16.5 x 8 in), weight about 8.6kg (19 lb). Assembled, it is 135 x 84 x 66cm (53 x 33 x 26 in).

Why Choose the Animal Ark?

If you have a dog or other small pet and you are planning for smoke, fallout or a chemical release, this is a way to include them in the plan instead of leaving them out of it. Because it needs a PAPR, it pairs naturally with the MB-90 we sell, and you can use the same PAPR for yourself.

For animals with sharp claws, MIRA recommends putting them in a crate or kennel inside the Ark. Practise setting it up before you need it.

If you are not completely satisfied with your items then you can return them to Sgt Prepper Shop within 30 days of delivery. Damaged items or faults need to be reported within 48hrs of delivery.

Orders over £80 qualify for free standard delivery. For orders under £80, a flat £4.95 shipping fee applies.
